New Burnley boss Eddie Howe has warned Everton off making a move for midfielder Chris Eagles.
Everton are reportedly keen on signing Eagles as a possible replacement for want-away winger Steven Pienaar.
The South African is expected to leave Goodison Park this month, with Tottenham and Chelsea both battling it out for his services.
Everton are now drawing up a list of replacements and former Manchester United youngster Eagles is thought to figure highly.
However, Howe is keen to keep hold of Eagles as he looks to build a side capable of winning promotion.
"We want to keep all our good players here,"said Howe.
"If we want to be strong we have to keep our best players."
